Karma is an amazingly gorgeous studio of Bhakti, love and devotion. This studio is owned by my dear friend Katrina Gustafson and is not only beautiful, but full of heart and soul, too. There are a load of amazing teachers here; it is near and dear to my heart. I organize and schedule special events at Karma, and am a part of the 200hr teacher training under Saul David Raye, beginning in October, 2015. MY SCHEDULE AT KARMA YOGA CENTER IS AS FOLLOWS:

Sundays 10-11:30am: All Levels Flow: This class focuses on refining the standing poses and learning more advanced seated postures (asanas), back bends, and introductions to inversions. Breathwork (pranayama) becomes more integrated and helps to intensify the flow. It is recommended that students are comfortable with Level 1 before taking this class. This is a full vinyasa flow class.

Sundays: 11:30am-12pmMeditation (By Donation): There are many paths to the same place and there are many ways to get into a meditative state. In these meditation classes your guide will help you find a way to calm the inner chatter of the mind so you can rest in the peaceful awareness of your highest Self. It is not so much a doing as it is an opening, an allowing of our being to rest in it’s true nature which is free from ego, suffering, and impermanence. Experience your higher Self as you focus on your inner truth and watch as it expands joy and love into all aspects of your life.

The Freyja Project is a beautiful studio located at 3654 Tejon St in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver

This studio is chock full of classes to help you get strong, fit, and open. Named after the Norse goddess Freyja (“Fray-yah”) known for her great strength and patron of crops and childbirth, she inspires all beings to reach the highest level of physical and emotional well-being. The Freyja Project not only has a wide array of fitness, yoga, and dance classes, it also has therapeutic spa treatments, including acupuncture, energy work, and massage.

MY SCHEDULE AT THE FREYJA PROJECT IS AS FOLLOWS:

Wednesdays 12-1 pm: Alignment Flow: A deep and powerful slow flow practice focused on thoughtful alignment and creative sequencing. Expect the same sun salutations, standing postures and seated postures you know from our Vinyasa Flow classes, approached with intentional focus on alignment, refinement and breath awareness. This class will offer detailed physical and subtle alignment cues as well as spend ample time helping to break down and better understand yoga postures. This class will offer opportunities to increase flexibility, strength and awareness of body, mind and spirit. This is a stealthily challenging all levels practice.

Fridays 12:00 PM-1:15 pm: Warrior Flow: Similar to Freyja Flow in that this class is an inspired vinyasa flow class that links breath with movement in a sequence of sun salutations, standing postures and seated postures. Different to Freyja Flow in that it adds further elements of difficulty, intensity, and often arm balancing. This class is intended to offer you innovations in sequencing and rigor focused around more advanced technique in asana (posture) and pranayama (breathwork). Experience highly recommended.

Fridays 2:00 PM-3:00 pm: Yin Yoga: Yin yoga works on the connective tissue and joints of the body. Unlike other styles of yoga, yin is about surrendering to the pose, not using our muscles to push deeper. By holding poses for several minutes, we allow the muscles to relax so that the connective tissue can be stretched and strengthened. As our tissues are stressed, our bodies respond by strengthening that area. Through selected poses, we can increase the mobility and the stability of our joints. We won’t do any standing, balancing or deeply inverted poses, we will do a lot of deep stretches and hold them for several minutes until we get to that delicious, yummy, gooey center. This class is very meditative and open to all levels. Yin yoga is especially good for runners, skiers, athletes and anyone with a sedentary lifestyle. All levels.
